Wooohoo! I'm back :) I survived like a whole month without internet. I suffered bigtime, but I did survive ;)
I'm out of my moms finally. I found a place with some roommates right down the street from work in Gresham. Except that I got a promotion yesterday and will now be working a good 12ish miles away from my new home. Oh, well...more $$$ comes with the promotion 8D GO ME!!!
Haha, I'm so happy! For the past month, I've called the 3 local Bath & Body Works store's nearly every day to see if any had the peppermint lotion in stock. None ever did...I even got to the point where I was going to buy it online and just use a gift card from the store (no CC at the moment.) The day I plan to do it, the website runs out of stock. SHIT!
So I'm in B&BW yesterday taking Kaitlynn birthday shopping and there was a lady in the line next to me talking about how she got 2 bottles of the peppermint lotion and didn't like it. So, I did the crazy thing and told her I'd buy it from her and asked for her number. She gave it to me today and I bought both bottles from her. Now I have 2 full sized bottled and could not be happier. I have never done so much for a simple scent of lotion...but it's that yummy.
What else did I get for Christmas? TONS of snowflake stuff, as always
(I collect snowflakes, duh.) I also got the brand new hair dryer I
wanted from my aunt, an original (working) spinart from my mom...I
can't believe she actually found one! And these really cool
amber-colored spun hurricane type candle holders with 24-karat gold
specks on them. They're so gorgeous!!!
Boy am I getting the best Christmas present ever!!! I requested to work Christmas day (my family does their thing on the 24th, and it includes a big bonus for working that day.) And since I can't be a driver, I get to run inside...and my boss will be a driver. In other words, I will be HIS BOSS for a day. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haha, I've either been extremely good this year, or naughty as hell!
So is everyone done with their Christmas shopping? I'm not, lol...bad
Amber. I still have to get the rest of my mom's gift and my uncle's
gift. On top of that I still need to buy some black nylons and a nice
necklace to go with my Christmas Eve dress. Oh, and I have to buy
wrapping paper and wrap everything! Did I mention I still have work
stuff to do as well? I finish this (hopefully) tomorrow...wish me luck!
Wind storm tonight! We normally get lots of wind in this area of Gresham/Troutdale but tonight wind gusts in this area were suppose to reach up to 70mph! I'm sure they did, a couple of huge tree branches around the parking lot blew down. One right on top of the car next to my moms. Scary! I love storms though...spooky and fun!
I bought a few new DVD's this past week: The Devil Wears Prada (watched it too many times this week, lol), Pirates of The Carribean 2, Pulse (kind of a disappointment) and the Dane Cook: Vicious Circle DVD. I finally got my mom to watch the Dane Cook special, she could not stop laughing at the end...I thought she was going to choke on her drink.
...Not a whole lot going on around here lately. Just looking for a place still. I MISS having my freedom! I mean, I still have it, it just doesn't feel like it because it's not my house where I can come and go as I please without giving someone a word of warning as to where I'll be in case something happens...or leaving my dog here while I'm at work. My moms boyfriend is a FUCKING ASSHOLE! And I don't want my dog around him for 2 seconds. Godforbid she eat food that I bought out of my mom's dog's fooddish because thebedroom where her dish is closed (by him.) He'll have a 3-day fit over something as stupid as that. Him and I got into it bigtime last week because he started threatening both my dog and my mom. He's not use to people standing up to him when he goes on one of his rages. He should also remember that I take crap from no one, him especially. He hasn't talked to me since and it has been *SO* freaking peaceful since then. Maybe my mom needs to do the same and stick up for herself? I think so...
Ick, it's almost 2am and I have to be at work at 10:30am. Bedtime for
me...Bailey is already sprawled out in bed snoring her furry little
butt off.
I'm alive!!!!!!
Quick update: I gave up my apartment and am currently staying with my mom. I got the apartment I liked but the deposit they wanted was more than I could afford, so I'm staying here to save up some cash. In the meantime, I'm looking at other places to see if I can find a better deal. Wish me luck :)
I took my little sister to the Dane Cook Vicious Circle (Extended Edition) a week and a half ago. She loved it. Beforehand I went to a few stores and bought some new superlong, hooded, thin sweatshirts. Hooded crap is so in right now. At least around here. Which works because I loooove this style.
Work is going alright. I'm now in charge of making the schedule permanently which is good for me and Dan cause we don't have to worry about requesting days off, haha!
I've got a date with Noah tomorrow. His 'girlfriend' was a pshycho so they lasted a real long time! LOL. Whatever, he's my little boytoy. Very, very hot!
H a p p y H o l i d a y s ! ! !
After buying about 50 extra hangers (I don't have enough to hang all my clothes up at the same time, lol) I discovered that my closet is not big enough to hold all my clothes.
The 2 apartments I'm looking at have 2 very different closets. THe one I already submitted my application to (last freaking Friday!!!) will have an answer for me tomorrow. It took like a week to proccess cause the manager lady ended up in the hospital :( The other place which is my backup place, I have yet to turn in the application. I don't want to waste $40 on a proccessing fee if my first one gets approved, ya know? The first apartment has a regular closet, slightly smaller than my current one, but it has a seperate laundry room just off the hallway that has a closet rod on one side...extra space! The second apartment is a tad cheaper and has a walk-in closet. The downside? THey have a no-pets policy. Except I found out that one of the managers has an arrangement worked out with a current resident (and his big Pitbull) that as long as she doesn't see the dog, there is no dog ;) I like her already :)
So I got my 'move' pushed off a bit due to everything going on with work and the apartment hunting. I filled out a formal 30-day notice/lease breaking agreement and plan on turning it in tomorrow. It is dated for the 13th, the date I turned in my original note. The first apartment I would have the cash to move into on the 27th (I'd need an extra $200 on top of my current for deposits, hence waiting for my next paycheck.) The second apartment isn't available till the first week of December. Luckily my 30-day notice would give me till the second week of December. YAY!!!
We'll see what happens. In the meantime, I got today off and need to
spend the rest of the night packing everything up. Sweet dreams,
everyone!!!
Last week my manager went on vacation. I ended up working 50 hours instead of my usual 40. The day before he's suppose to come back, his mom dies. This week I'm putting in over 70 hours since he won't be there. That is why I haven't been around recently. Anytime I get home, I'm exhausted and want nothing but sleep. Can you blame me? Add packing and the impending move to that and I'm beat.
It's not all bad though. I'm learning a lot of new things this week and there are even some perks. First off, I'm running the place so I'm the big boss. Yeah, baby! Haha, lol. Not exciting but I think so. Second, I'm doing the staff schedule so me and Dan will both get the exact schedule that we want for Thanksgiving week. It only took me 3 hours of perfecting (which I just completed.) And...the owner, Mark, said if I do a good job running the place, that he'll throw in a nice ($$$) bonus for me this check.
Last week I was on my way home to watch some CSI. Instead, I got the real thing and it was so much better! It was kind of scary to, since I thought Derek was involved. The vehicle that got struck looked just like Derek's and he had left work in the same direction about 10 minutes before the accident was reported to have taken place. Plus, the son of a bitch would'nt answer his cell phone when I tried calling to make sure he was okay. :(
The bank where we make our work deposits is about halfway between work and my place on my way home so I usually take the deposits. The intersections surround the street the bank is on were all blocked off, including the Division & Hogan intersection (major cross streets.) There was police tape everywhere, 2 cars in places cars don't normally park and a police baracades everywhere. I counted 8 cop cars, 2 CSI units, 2 motorcycle cops, a sheriff, 2 ambulances and a firetruck. Not to mention the other cop cars that came and went. The horrible thing was the ambulance's just sat there...cause where's the rush on getting a dead guy to the hospital?
This is what happened to cause all of this. Although, it's a bit worse than they report. The man who stole the acura was pushing 100 MPR before he reached the intersection. When he got to the intersection, he decided to punch it (apparently he wasn't going fast enough?) Just as he ran the red light, the guy driving the minivan was driving through the signal on a green light. The car was struck on the driver's side (which is why the guy was killed on impact.) The impact sent to car at least 30 or so yards into the Little Cesers parking lot. The guy who stole the car also ended up in the same parking lot and decided to make a run for it. He ran up towards 7-11 and slipped, got back up and ran towards the intersection where the impact happened. He ended up falling again and one of the officers caught him, along with a dog.
My friend Chris who works at the gas station across the street saw the whole thing happen. They heard sirens coming, decided to watch the chase and saw the whole crash happen. Him and Johnny both got interviewed by the cops and reporters. The police didn't clear out until about 7 that morning.
As horrible as it sounds, watching the aftermath was so much more exciting than an episode of CSI cause it's the real thing!!!
I had to go get my picture taken at the DMV today :( Apparently I misplaced my driver's license somewhere between here and Halloween. I even checked the liquor store...they did not have it. Did you know Oregon DMV will accept a non-photo credit card or a home-printed food handlers card as acceptable forms of ID but will not accept state issued military id? I find that ridiculous! Luckily that didn't affect me, lol.
My mom told me today that my 'bedhead' actually looks "kinda sexy" on me, lol. Nice to know my mom thinks so, just in case I ever wake up next to her after a night of wild, crazy sex, huh?
I think I'm moving next week. My landlord has done absolutely nothing regarding the mouse problem and it's been almost 3 weeks. I refuse to pay what I pay in rent for a place that has mice. That's unlivable and legally, I don't have to pay. There's more to the legal aspect, but I found I can legally brake my lease without any repercussions on my part. Work for me. Plus, I really don't need a 2 bedroom.
I'm looking at a 1 bedroom/studio in downtown Portland. I know, you think studio and you think rundown, small, crappy place. But the place I found is really nice and upscale. It's the Yamhill layout in The Village @ The Lovejoy Fountain. If I remember right (and I'm not sure I do) isn't that the really cool fountain like a block away from the Portland Ballet Theater or whatever it's called? Maybe not...anyway...
It runs $552 a month and I really don't need a livingroom seeing as how
I never use mine. I spend most of my time in my room
either sleeping, cleaning or playing on the computer or in the kitchen
or bathroom when I'm home. The place comes with keycard access,
closed-off garage parking, A/C and walk-in closets. Plus I think it
also has a pool/jacuzzi, fitness center and some other stuff. My
biggest worry is their pet policy and if the place is still available.
I want to move in like a WEEK. I'll keep you posted. Wish me luck!!!
My upper stomache area is sore. Like I just finished doing some new exercise...that kind of sore. Except I haven't (that I'm aware of anyway.) When I laugh it's even more sore. My body is so odd at times :/
I hope everyone had a happy, fun and safe Halloween! In the 24 hours that was Halloween I managed to break the computers at work (I told the owner and he didn't seem to really care..?!?!?), blow my whole paycheck, get rid of my roommate and get back in touch with Noah. Definetely a good day for me.
More to come later...NOW it's time to work-out.
Friday the 13th was a very interesting day for me. For startes, I overslept for work for the very first time in EVER. Waking up to your boss calling you is not something you want. Especially when he's worried cause OMG you never oversleep...are you dying?! I swear to god that's what he said, lol. I didn't get in trouble but I still freaked out anyway. So the store opened an hour late but we still had a very good day. Well, until the rest of the staff started showing up.
Tyler, our lead shift runner, quit. Came in, got in a fight with Jason and left. I'm partly to blame. I could've not mentioned the fact that he blew off work with like 10 minutes notice for an interview elsewhere. But it's kind of my job to be the bitch sometimes. Which sucks cause me and Tyler were finally starting to really get along with each other. Oh, well. He's mad at Jason, not me.
Today was horrible. But not in a bad way. I was on time (YAY!!!), caffeine in hand (double yay!!!) and had the place open in record time. Usually we're fairly dead Friday mornings and steady Saturday mornings. AN average Saturday morning we make about $300-$400. Today we were slammed. between opening at 11am all the way through 4pm (when "lunch" hour ends) the store made almost $800. And I was the only person working (besides the driver - and I'm still training her.) I didn't get to leave until almost 9 o'clock. It was a horribly long day. But since I did such an awesome job, Jason got someone to cover my opening shift tomorrow (he wants me to be nice and rested for tomorrow, lol) and I won't have to work until 2pm tomorrow. But I'll end up not getting out of there till around midnight I'm guessing.
Enough bitching from me...QoTD!!!

If you are going to dress up for Halloween, what will you be?
I was going to be a little red riding-hood, but my grandmother didn't have enough time to make my costume for me. All I needed was the cape portion. The rest I could get out of my closet or any dance store ;) And I have to work Halloween for a few hours so I won't be able to go to any parties anyway :'(
Hhmm. AFter the joke Joe told me, I will never be able to think of little red riding-hood as a childs fairytale. Ever. Again. That whore!

What's your favorite thing to shop for?
SHOES!!!, of course. Anyone that knows me knows what a shoe-whore I am. Just last week I was out shopping for some new work shoes (yeah, still haven't bought those) and I found the most adorable Steve Madden heels. So adorable that I bought the same shoe in two different colors, grey/silver and black. I wore them out the other day while running errands and I got so many compliments on them. They're painful, but once I've broken them in a bit they'll be 100% worth it :)
